Tamiya 35087 Ger. Sturmgeschutz IV+
Tamiya's 1/35th scale model of the Sturmgeschütz IV (StuG IV) is a German self-propelled gun developed as an alternative to the StuG III on a Panzer IV tank chassis. Armed with the 75mm StuK 40 L/48 gun, the StuG IV became an effective tank fighter that proved itself on both the Eastern and Western fronts. The kit includes detailed plastic parts, realistic chassis, crew figure and decals for various units. The package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Sturmgeschütz IV (StuG IV) was created in 1943 as an emergency solution after Allied air raids damaged the production of chassis for the StuG III. It was therefore decided to use the Panzer IV tank chassis, on which a superstructure with a 75mm StuK 40 L/48 gun was mounted. The result was a machine with similar combat characteristics to the StuG III, but with a slightly different weight distribution and better mobility.
The StuG IV was deployed on both the Eastern and Western fronts, where it served as a tank interceptor and infantry fire support. With its low profile and effective gun, it was capable of destroying Allied armour at long range. It was also equipped with additional side armour (Schürzen) which provided protection against infantry weapons and cumulative rounds.
The Tamiya 1/35 Sturmgeschütz IV kit features precision machined plastic parts, detailed chassis, realistic armour texture and a crew figure in combat position. The model also includes decals for several German units from the late phase of the war.
The historical accuracy and detailed workmanship make this model ideal for modelers interested in German WWII armored vehicles.
Package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
