Vallejo Model Wash 76516 Grey Wash (35ml)

Vallejo Wash FX 76516 Grey (35 ml) is an acrylic wash from the Vallejo Wash FX range in a grey wash finish. It is designed to highlight panel lines, rivets, seams, folds, and fine details on light, grey, black, and metallic surfaces.

Apply the wash into seams, panel lines, and around raised details. Due to its capillary action, it will flow into recesses; remove excess with a clean, damp brush or cotton swab according to the desired intensity.

Technical Information and Recommendations

• Type: water-based acrylic wash with a matte finish
• Volume: 35 ml
• Use: panel lines, rivets, seams, shadows, dust, rust, dirt, and operational patina
• Application: fine brush, local application into seams, or a thin layer as a filter
• Surface: best controlled on a satin or glossier surface; it soaks in more on matte surfaces
• Intensity adjustment: clean damp brush, water, or carefully with Airbrush Thinner 71161
• Previous layers: Model Color, Model Air, or Surface Primer
• Further weathering: Weathering FX, pigments, and Diorama FX
• Fixing: matte varnish or satin varnish depending on the desired finish
• Tools: modelling brushes

It is better to use the wash gradually. One thick layer often creates blotches, while multiple thin layers allow for better control of contrast, dirt, and the final depth of details. For cleaner work, it is advisable to protect the model with a satin or gloss varnish before applying the wash.
