MR.Hobby AMMO MIG YAKUMO Color Set D BASICS (WY04) is a universal patination set developed in exclusive collaboration between Mr. Hobby and AMMO by Mig Jiménez.
This set serves as a basic complement to the regionally focused weathering sets (WY01, WY02, WY03) and contains the key effects needed for any military model, regardless of the battlefield. Contents include products for simulating oil spots, rust, paint chipping and universal dirt. With this kit, you can create the basic wear and tear typical of metal and operating fluids on your model.

The BASICS set focuses on operational wear and damage that is independent of geographic location:

Key Effects: The products in the set allow you to realistically simulate rust on exhaust pipes and damaged surfaces, fuel and oil stains around filler necks and mechanical parts, and paint chipping (gray-brown/metallic scratches) that exposes the underlying material.

Product Types: The set contains a selection of weathering products from Mr. Hobby: Mr. Weathering Color (enamel-based), Mr. Weathering Pastel (pigment-based), and Mr. Acrysion (acrylic-based).
🧪 Set Contents and Product Characteristics
The WY04 set contains four basic and versatile weathering products:

MIG-013 FUEL & OIL (Mr. Weathering Color – 40 ml): An enamel-based product for creating realistic, greasy, dripping fuel and oil stains. It can be applied and blended using a thinner (Mr. Weathering Color Thinner).

MIG-014 EARTH & GRIME (Mr. Weathering Pastel – 6 g): A pigment for simulating dark earth and grime that accumulates in recesses and around the undercarriage.

MIG-015 CHIPPING (Acrysion – 18 ml): A water-based acrylic paint (Acrysion) in a dark brown/metallic shade. It is used to create chipping and scratch effects. The advantage of Acrysion is that it can be thinned and cleaned with water or alcohol, which prevents accidental damage to the underlying enamel or lacquer paints.

MIG-016 RUST (Mr. Weathering Color – 40 ml): An enamel product for simulating dark and lighter rust on metal parts, such as exhaust pipes and damaged armor.

Thinning: For products MIG-013, MIG-014, and MIG-016, use the special Mr. Weathering Color Thinner (not included in the set). For product MIG-015 (Chipping Acrysion), use water or Acrysion thinner.
