MR.Hobby AMMO MIG YAKUMO WWII Eastern Front Set provides modelers with a set of high quality enamel and pigment products that faithfully simulate the wear and tear of German tanks and vehicles (Wehrmacht, Waffen-SS) in the harsh climate of the Eastern Front.

Historical Context and Purpose of the Set

The Eastern Front, known for its extreme weather fluctuations, posed the greatest challenge to technology. This kit focuses on:

• Rasputica (Mud Period): a key feature when mud and wet clay dominated the terrain in spring and autumn. The kit contains tones that help create the effect of thick, dark mud.

• General Dirt: The products are mixed to simulate dirt, rust marks and dust, which was often darker and richer in contrast to the western front .

🧪 Kit Contents and Product Characteristics

As with the Western Front kit, the YAKUMO system contains four basic products to create a complex patina:

1. MEDIUM DUST WASH (Enamel): a special enamel wash to enhance details. Its medium tone is ideal for simulating dust deposited in grey and yellow camouflage.

2. RUST STREAKING GRIME (Enamel): An enamel product for creating rusty drip marks - a common occurrence on vehicles exposed to moisture and poor maintenance.

3. SOIL (Enamel): A dark brown enamel paint (mud) to create the effect of wet, dark clay that accumulated on undercarriages and fenders during a rash.

4. RUSSIAN EARTH (Pigment): A fine pigment to simulate dark Russian clay and deep mud, ideal for the final texture of chassis and wheels.

• Use: Enamel products are applied to the matte surface of the model and then spread, dripped or worked with solvent-based thinners (White Spirit, Mr. Weathering Solvent) for realistic effects.
