IBG's 1/72nd scale Sand Ballast Crate for Gotha Go 242/244 set includes a detailed sand ballast crate to complement the Go 242 and Go 244 German transport aircraft. This realistic accessory suitably extends the capabilities of the dioramas and the models themselves. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
IBG Models 72U064 is a 3D-printed sand ballast crate designed for the complete IBG Models Gotha Go 242/244 family in 1:72 scale. Individual planks, framing and fasteners are represented, allowing the crate to add convincing detail to the cargo compartment or an airfield diorama.

Recommended procedure
- Remove supports gradually and clean only the attachment points to preserve the plank texture.
- Test-position the crate in the cargo compartment or planned diorama and check the available space.
- Apply a thin primer coat; a heavy layer would soften plank joints and fastening details.
- Build the wood finish with several thin tones and a light wash in the joints; paint metal fittings separately.
- Fix the part with a small amount of cyanoacrylate adhesive.
The plastic kit is not included.
Use model paints and primers and adhesives suitable for 3D-printed parts to complete the set.
