RCsubs SKU-090 is a comprehensive photo-etched deck and detail set in 1:144 scale for Revell Type VIIC / Das Boot 05038 and 05675.

The set includes one photo-etched sheet and detailed instructions. Three main parts replace the deck surface; additional parts modify the hull, conning tower, railings, hatches, vents, anchor and deck elements, the 20 mm anti-aircraft gun, and the 88 mm deck gun.

The photo-etched deck is laid over the modified plastic deck from the kit. To open the perforations, it is necessary to remove part of the original plastic according to the instructions; the set is therefore intended for more experienced modelers.

Recommended Procedure

Separate the etched parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and gently clean up the contact points.
Before removing the plastic, compare each step with the RCsubs instructions and repeatedly test-fit the parts.
Create bends gradually using tweezers or an etching bender; adjust larger shaped parts to the hull slowly and without snapping them.
Glue the parts together using a small amount of cyanoacrylate adhesive. Before painting, degrease the surface and apply a thin coat of primer.
