1/35 German 3T cargo truck with Mg 151/20 drilling
MiniArt 53051 is a 1:35 scale plastic model kit of a German 3-tonne truck fitted with a triple-mount MG 151/20 ‘Drilling’ anti-aircraft gun system, designed for assembly. The kit contains photo-etched (PE) parts and two variants of decals. Suitable as a base for a diorama with an urban or frontline theme.
The German 3-tonne class lorry was one of the Wehrmacht’s most widely used vehicles — forming the backbone of supply routes on all fronts and deployed in dozens of variants, ranging from standard lorries and ambulance versions to specialised technical modifications. One such modification involved converting the load bed into a mobile anti-aircraft platform, which allowed for flexible deployment where fixed anti-aircraft positions were insufficient or impractical. The MG 151/20 “Drilling” triple mount — three 20 mm cannons combined into a single rotating system — provided effective defence against low and medium-altitude threats, and its installation on a truck chassis gave units mobile firepower capable of responding to threats both on the move and when stationary.
The MiniArt 53051 kit in 1:35 scale captures this combination with an emphasis on detail. The vehicle’s loading platform features a distinctive texture of planks and structural elements, whilst the weapon system offers sufficient complexity to faithfully reproduce the rotation and elevation mechanisms. The kit includes photo-etched (PE) parts, which enhance the accuracy of particularly thin metal elements — grilles, brackets and small structural details that would be difficult to cast faithfully in plastic. Two decal variants allow you to choose between different units or operational areas. The kit is suitable as a standalone display model or as part of a diorama depicting a frontline or urban environment. The pack does not contain the paints or adhesives required for assembly.
