1/48 Fw 190D double-sided express fit mask for MINIART
ASK masks in a double-sided self-adhesive Express Fit version, made for the MiniArt Fw 190D-9 in 1/48 scale. Two identically laid-out sets cover the windscreen and canopy inside and out, with ring masks added.
ASK drew the mask shapes itself, working directly from the glazing of the MiniArt Fw 190D-9 kit in 1/48 scale. The label of double-sided set ASK 200-M48334 (SCALE MASK) names the Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9. The sheet is divided into two identically laid-out groups – each with masks for the windscreen panes, frame strips for the canopy, a small circular mask and two large ring masks. One group is for the outer side of the glazing, the other for the inner side.
The Fw 190 D, nicknamed Dora or “Langnasen-Dora”, replaced the BMW 801 radial with the Junkers Jumo 213 inline engine, hence the lengthened nose. The D-9 reached the units in September 1944, when fighter-versus-fighter combat and ground attack had taken priority over intercepting heavy bombers.
