AK Acrylics 3GEN Aircraft Series M-485 Blue-grey (17 ml)
AK Interactive AK11865 M-485 Blue-Grey is an acrylic paint from the 3GEN Aircraft Series in an 18 ml bottle. M-485 Blue-Grey is the upper surface colour of American naval aircraft in the early Second World War period.
M-485 Blue-Grey comes from the Aircraft Series, the aviation part of AK Interactive's 3GEN acrylics. The paint is supplied in an 18 ml dropper bottle whose cap, according to the manufacturer, makes the shade quick to identify.
AK Interactive notes that from August 1941 the upper surfaces of carrier aircraft of the Pacific Fleet's Battle Force were painted Blue-Grey, with Light Grey retained underneath. By February 1942 the Blue-Grey/Light Grey scheme applied to all carrier and shore-based US Navy and USMC aircraft, until a tri-colour camouflage replaced it in January 1943. The manufacturer also supplies the colour in the AK11729 WWII US Navy & USMC Aircraft Colors set.
