The cockpit with a reflector gunsight distinguishes this set from the related SIN64896 for aircraft with a telescopic sight; the other component sets are the same in both. Bronze undercarriage legs carry the model more reliably than plastic. The F4F-3 Wildcat served with the US Navy and Marine Corps in the first months of the Pacific War, including the defence of Wake Island, and differed from the later F4F-4 in its fixed, non-folding wings carrying four .50 calibre machine guns.
The base plastic kit is not included.
