Necron Compound is a specialized technical paint developed by Games Workshop specifically for painting Necron models and other mechanical factions in Warhammer 40,000. This paint is designed to capture the unique look of ancient Necron metals - materials that have survived millions of years and bear the mark of time, yet retain their deadly functionality and alien sheen.

The Necron Compound formulation combines soft metallic pigments with darker shades to create a patinated metal effect with a hint of green or cool metallic tone that is characteristic of Necron technology. Unlike conventional metallic paints, Necron Compound provides a more complex colour depth that evokes a sense of antiquity and extraterrestrial origin.

The paint is easy to apply with a brush and covers a variety of surfaces well, including plastic, resin and metal. It's ideal for painting the armor of Necron warriors, Immortals, vehicles like the Ghost Ark or Doomsday Ark, as well as details on Canoptek constructs. Necron Compound can be used as a base coat for metal surfaces or as a highlight layer over a darker base. It combines well with techniques such as dry brushing, washing (for example with Nuln Oil or Agrax Earthshade) and edge highlighting using lighter metallic shades such as Runefang Steel or Stormhost Silver.

The pack contains 12ml of acrylic paint in a handy dropper bottle, which allows for precise dosing and minimises wastage. It is recommended to shake the paint thoroughly before use to ensure the metallic pigments are evenly mixed.
