    Since its introduction in 1979, the Leopard 2 main battle tank—often considered the best tank in the world—has been continuously modernized and upgraded. The current version, the Leopard 2A6M, features a longer gun (L55) and improved mine protection. In addition to Germany, 15 other countries use the Leopard 2 for a variety of missions, such as Canada in Afghanistan.
