Revell VW T1 Samba Bus 1:24
The first Volkswagen Transporter grew out of late-1940s utility vehicle prototypes; its development was also influenced by Dutch importer Ben Pon after he saw an improvised works transporter in Wolfsburg. Series production of the T1 began on 8 March 1950. The Samba Bus became the best-known passenger version, recognised by its oval roof windows, folding roof and extensive chrome trim. This kit represents the 1962 nine-seat variant.
Revell’s plastic kit features a multi-part body, a detailed interior with dashboard and bench seats, and an engine replica. All doors, including the rear pair, can be displayed open. The front axle is steerable, the wheels remain movable, and the roof can be built either open or closed. The box also includes European and US-style bumpers, plus chrome-plated hubcaps, door handles, wipers and the front emblem.
The kit contains 173 parts and the finished model measures 181 mm. Decals provide decorative stripes and number plates for Germany, the Netherlands, France, Great Britain and the USA.
