Model Air is a range of water-based, matte acrylic colors, developed especially for airbrushing.
The paints can be mixed together and thinned with Airbrush Thinner (71261 18 ml, 71361 60 ml, 71161 200 ml). To create special effects, they can also be mixed with alcohol and varnish. Shake the paints well before use, and you can pour them directly into the airbrush. You can also mix and thin the paints directly in the airbrush cup. Once sprayed, the paints dry very quickly. While working, it’s a good idea to occasionally add a few drops of Airbrush Thinner to slow down the drying of the paint inside the airbrush; this will not affect the paint’s properties. It is also recommended to add 1 drop of Airbrush Flow Improver for every 5 drops of paint to prolong the drying time of the paint at the tip of the needle. Airbrush Cleaner (71099 82ml, 71199 200ml) is used when switching to a different paint to clean and lubricate the airbrush, as well as to clean the needle and to touch up or remove paint from the model. Model Air paints are ready to use with a 0.2mm nozzle without the need for thinning. If you do thin them, never exceed 30%. Set the compressor pressure to 0.75–1.1 BAR. You can apply the paints directly; they can be thinned with Airbrush Thinner, and when applying multiple coats, we recommend waiting five minutes between coats. Once dry, the paints are resistant to oils, glazes, turpentine, and light rubbing with alcohol.
