Tired of mixing grey colours? Switch to Vallejo Diorama FX Granite Grey (26.308) and get geological perfection right out of the box! This is a dry, pre-coloured mineral granulate with a handy 0.5-2mm grain size that balances perfectly between sand and boulder.
This material imitates coarser granite gravel and stone chippings. Although granite is formed under tremendous pressure and heat (simply geological heavy metal), its final mellified grey hue is incredibly versatile. Use it to simulate bomb debris, rocky slopes in mountainous terrain, or coarse bedrock in volcanically active areas.
Stability Guarantee (Can't do it without a fixing trick): these granite pebbles are loose and won't stay on the substrate on their own, even if they were pure diamond. In order to create a solid and durable ground that will not crumble, it is essential to fix them with a capillary medium. Apply Granite Grey to the substrate, shape, and then carefully saturate with Vallejo Terrain Fixer or similar adhesive. The medium will soak in, hardening the texture into a matte surface and preparing it for further patination and spotting processes. Fixing is simply a must, otherwise your diorama will be blown away by the wind.
