Warhammer 40,000: Starter Set is a comprehensive set designed to guide you, step by step, through the world of one of the most popular tabletop wargames. You take command of the forces of the Imperium, or their deadly enemies, and wage battles between elite Space Marines and savage Orks. Both sides are represented by detailed plastic miniatures that you assemble and paint yourself, and the action takes place on impressive battle terrain. The set contains everything you need to play, including two Combat Patrols, and thanks to the clear instructions, you’ll learn the rules as you play.

The pack includes an 88-page softback rulebook (dimensions 160 mm × 230 mm) with a reference section, an 88-page starter set guide with instructions for assembly, painting and gameplay, and two double-sided reference sheets featuring army rules, strategic moves, upgrades and data sheets for Combat Patrol.

The set includes 46 multi-part snap-together plastic miniatures that can be assembled without glue. Fighting for the Imperium are 13 Space Marines – a captain with a relic shield, a librarian, 5 Intercessors, 5 Vanguard veterans with rocket packs and 1 Land Speeder. Key models offer head variants with and without helmets, whilst the Land Speeder can swap its Onslaught gatling gun for a heavy flamethrower. Opposing them are 33 Orks – a War Chief, a Madman, 20 Ork lads, 10 Gretchin and 1 Wartrakk – with interchangeable torsos, heads and weapon variants for a wide range of poses.

The battlefield is completed by 15 multi-piece snap-together terrain elements (large and small Manufactorum ruins, a shock field, a capacitor tower, Rockcrete barricades, generator shrines and galvanic pylons), two fold-out game boards made from 1.5 mm thick cardboard measuring 762 mm × 559 mm with printed building bases, two transparent plastic distance rulers with 12-inch markings, and 10 white six-sided dice with bevelled corners.

In total, the set contains 535 plastic components and a complete set of Citadel bases in various sizes (oval 105 mm × 70 mm, round 50 mm, 40 mm, 32 mm and 25 mm) with hexagonal holes. The miniatures, which feature snap-fit joints, require assembly and are supplied unpainted.
