Warhammer 40,000: Introductory Set offers a comprehensive gateway into the vast and dark galaxy of the 41st Millennium. This set is designed to provide new players with everything they need to take their first steps into the world of Warhammer 40,000 – from assembling and painting the models to playing their own battles. Thanks to its clear guide and intuitive contents, the set is also suitable for complete beginners with no previous experience of model-building or tabletop wargames.

The set contains a total of 12 models for self-assembly, divided between two iconic factions. On the side of the Imperial defenders are 6 Space Marine models – one Space Marine Lieutenant and five Intercessors, elite Space Marines in heavy power armour. Opposing them are 6 Ork models – one Ork Nob and five Boyz, brutal and unpredictable warriors thirsting for battle. This line-up allows you to immediately play out clashes between two completely different playstyles.

To get you started on the painting side of the hobby, the box contains 6 Citadel paints covering the basic colour schemes for both armies:

• Macragge Blue – the iconic Space Marine blue
• Retributor Armour – for gold details and embellishments
• Abaddon Black – black for shading and base coats
• Leadbelcher – metallic silver for weapons and armour
• Mournfang Brown – brown for leather and wooden elements

The included Citadel Starter Brush is used for painting – a basic brush suitable for applying paint to both large areas and fine details.

An integral part of the set is a 48-page introductory guide, which provides step-by-step instructions for assembling the models, painting them and the basic rules of the game. To play out battles, the pack also includes a set of cardboard terrain pieces that create obstacles and cover on the battlefield, a game mat defining the playing area, a 12-inch ruler for measuring movement and range, and 6 six-sided dice for resolving combat and game actions.
