MR.The Hobby AMMO MIG YAKUMO WWII Eastern Front Set provides modelers with a set of high-quality enamel and pigment products that faithfully simulate the wear and tear on German tanks and vehicles (Wehrmacht, Waffen-SS) in the harsh climate of the Eastern Front.

Historical Context and Purpose of the Set

The Eastern Front, known for its extreme weather fluctuations, posed the greatest challenge to military equipment. This set focuses on:

• Rasputica (Mud Season): A key element during which mud and wet clay dominated the terrain in the spring and fall. The set includes shades that help create the effect of thick, dark mud.

• General Dirt: The products are formulated to simulate dirt, rust stains, and dust, which—unlike on the Western Front—was often darker and richer in color.

🧪 Kit Contents and Product Characteristics

As with the Western Front set, the YAKUMO system includes four basic products for creating a complex patina:

1. MEDIUM DUST WASH (Enamel): A special enamel wash for highlighting details. Its medium tone is ideal for simulating dust settled on gray and yellow camouflage patterns.

2. RUST STREAKING GRIME (Enamel): An enamel product for creating streaks of rust —a common occurrence on vehicles exposed to moisture and poor maintenance.

3. SOIL (Enamel): A dark brown enamel paint (mud) for creating the effect of wet, dark clay that has accumulated on undercarriages and fenders during the rasputitsa.

4. RUSSIAN EARTH (Pigment): A fine pigment simulating dark Russian clay and deep mud, ideal for adding the final texture to the undercarriage and wheels.

• Application: Enamel products are applied to the model’s matte surface and then blended, allowed to run, or worked with using solvent-based thinners (White Spirit, Mr. Weathering Solvent) to achieve realistic effects.
