1/48 SAAB J21 double-sided painting mask for Pilot Replicas
ASK masks for the Pilot Replicas SAAB J 21 plastic kit in 1/48 scale are double-sided. Dozens of numbered masks cover the framed canopy outside (1–22) and inside (23–44), and the sheet has circular masks too.
As its own design, ASK developed these masks specifically for the glazing of the 1/48 Pilot Replicas SAAB J 21 kit. Sheet ASK 200-M48040 from the SCALE MASK range (DOUBLE-SIDED) is split into two mirrored parts: the upper one with masks 1–22 for the outer side of the individual panes and the INTERIOR section with masks 23–44 for the inner side. A vertical strip on the right holds circular masks.
The SAAB 21 was a Swedish fighter and attack aircraft with twin booms and a Daimler-Benz DB 605B mounted behind the cockpit, driving a pusher propeller. To let the pilot bail out without hitting the propeller, it was fitted with an ejection seat. The J 21A-1 entered service on 1 December 1945. The masks are shaped for the Pilot Replicas kit in 1/48 scale.
