1/72 Gotha Go-242A-1 - German Medium Cargo Glider
IBG 1/72 Gotha Go-242A-1 is a 1/72 scale plastic model of a German WWII transport glider. The kit depicts an early version of the A-1, designed for transporting troops and material.
The Gotha Go 242 transport glider was developed in Germany as a successor to the smaller DFS 230 and was designed to transport airborne troops, equipment and light equipment. The Go 242A-1 version was an early production variant, used from 1941. The glider had a robust design with a large cabin and was capable of carrying up to 23 fully armed soldiers or equivalent cargo. It took off towed behind transport aircraft such as the Ju 52 or He 111 and played an important role in supply and airborne operations on various fronts.
Although it was gradually replaced with the advent of the Me 323 Gigant powered transport aircraft, the Gotha Go 242 remained in service until the end of the war, and its versatility made it an important type of German transport.
IBG' s 1/72 scale kit offers a detailed version of the Go 242A-1 with authentic shapes and fine surface details. The model is an ideal addition to collections focusing on Luftwaffe airborne operations and is also suitable for creating dioramas depicting air supply operations.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
