1/72 I.A.R. 81C - Great Air Battles of 1944
IBG 1/72 I.A.R. 81C - Great Air Battles of 1944 is a plastic kit of Romanian fighter and fighter-bomber in 1/72 scale. It offers the opportunity to build an aircraft that played a significant role in the air battles over Romania in 1944.
The I.A.R. 81C, based on the design of the I.A.R. 80 fighter, represented the pinnacle of Romanian WWII fighter aircraft development. The C version was armed with 20 mm guns and adapted to attack ground targets, making it a versatile fighter-bomber.
In 1944, the I.A.R. 81C took part in intense fighting against Allied bomber formations that attacked the Ploesti oil fields and other strategic targets in Romania. These engagements were among the largest aerial battles over southeastern Europe and demonstrated the courage and dedication of Romanian pilots as they struggled to counter the modern American B-24 Liberator machines and their escorts.
IBG' s 1/72 scale kit allows you to build a detailed model of this variant, including fine surface treatment and authentic shapes. The decals offer the opportunity to depict the machines that took part in these historic events of 1944. The model is suitable for both stand-alone displays and dioramas focusing on the air battles over Romania.
The package does not include the paints or glues needed for assembly.
