Academy Da Vinci Armored Car: mechanical model of a Renaissance design with wind-up drive, without glue, paint or batteries.
The model is based on Leonardo’s armoured vehicle design with a circular protective shell and sixteen guns around its perimeter. Its unusual shape represents a Renaissance concept of protected fighting transport, rather than a tank that actually fought in battle.
An included wind-up clockwork mechanism drives the assembled model. The kit combines construction of a distinctive Leonardo invention with a practical demonstration of mechanical propulsion. This wind-up mechanism belongs to Academy’s model implementation; the vehicle is not radio-controlled.
Parts snap together without glue, paint or tools. No batteries are required. Illustrated instructions are included; the manufacturer does not specify a scale.
