AK Acrylics 3GEN Aircraft Series RAF Sky / FS 34424 (17 ml)
AK Interactive AK11844 RAF Sky / FS 34424 is an acrylic paint from the 3GEN Aircraft Series in an 18 ml bottle. Sky is the RAF colour for undersides and identification bands; in its name the manufacturer also relates it to the US shade FS 34424.
RAF Sky / FS 34424 belongs to the Aircraft Series, the aviation range of AK Interactive's third-generation (3GEN) acrylics. The paint comes in an 18 ml dropper bottle and is designed by the manufacturer for both brush and airbrush.
According to AK Interactive, Sky became the underside colour of RAF day fighters in June 1940, and from August 1941 the Day Fighter Scheme used it for fuselage bands and spinners. After 1945 it covered the undersides of Fleet Air Arm aircraft in the scheme with Extra Dark Sea Grey. The paint is included in the AK11723, AK11724 WWII RAF Temperate Land Scheme, AK11725 WWII RAF Day Fighter Scheme and AK11754 RN Fleet Air Arm Aircraft Colors sets.
