Endless Horizons: the Realism of the Steppe Landscape

Steppe landscapes are defined by their resilience and specific colours. AK Vegetation - Steppe Tufts (AK8125) faithfully mimic the tall, sun-baked grasses that dominate the vast areas of Central Asia, the African savannahs or the dry plains of North America. With their superior height of 8 mm, these clumps are ideal for depicting wild, untendedvegetation that reaches up to the knees of the figures or covers the undercarriage of armoured vehicles.

From a historical point of view, these reeds are indispensable for dioramas of the Eastern Front (areas of southern Russia and Ukraine), the fighting in the northern Africa (desert oases and dry scrublands) or for modern conflicts fought in dry, dusty regions. Their faded, sandy yellow hue creates an excellent contrast to the dark camouflage of the tanks and adds depth and vertical dynamism to the scene.

Technical information and building tips

Manufacturer AK-Interactive has designed this product to meet the appearance and ease-of-use requirements of professional modelers.

• Easy application: each cluster is individually attached to the backing film. Simply grasp it carefully with tweezers and transfer it directly to the base or diorama.

• Scale and proportions. It is ideal as tall vegetation for 1:35 scale, or as extremely tall, reed-like vegetation for 1:48 and 1:72 scale.

• Recommended fixation. For permanent fixing to the textured surface after application of modeling clay or sand), we recommend using a drop of white glue or the specialized AK118 Gravel & Sand Fixer.

Important note: The package does not contain paint or glue (except for the integrated self-adhesive layer on the underside).
