Hobby 2000 1/48 Hawker Hurricane Mk.Ia Trop represents British WWII fighter aircraft in version adapted for tropical conditions. This variant was deployed mainly in North Africa and the Middle East. The Hawker Hurricane Mk.Ia was the backbone fighter aircraft of the RAF at the start of World War II, famous for its role in the Battle of Britain. The Mk.Ia Trop version was fitted with a special Vokes sand filter to protect the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine from dust and grit, and was adapted to operate in hot and dusty environments. These machines operated mainly in North Africa, Egypt, Malta and other colonies where they provided bomber escort, fighter protection and support to ground forces.
The 1/48th scale Hobby 2000 kit uses quality Hasegawa plastic parts with fine engraving and precise shapes.
